Destination Optimization Program

The Alabama Tourism Department (ATD) held a series of 7 educational seminars across the state in February 2022.  The seminars featured best practices for DMOs and attractions, hotels, and other tourism points of interest in connection with various tourism websites including and Google.

Claire Barrentine or Bill Dinan of Intermark Group presented on best practices in connection with ATD’s website,  ATD staff member Pam Smith also answered questions.

Josh Wray of Miles Media Partnership presented information and best practices concerning Google Local Guides and Google businesses listings while also touching on other major tourism websites and the importance of how to have your best foot forward digitally.
