Boosting Local Economies Across Alabama

Alabama Tourism Department's Competitive Grants strive to bolster local economies across the state by supporting initiatives that enhance, expand, and promote the visitor industry. Through these grants, we aim to foster community development and attract visitors to the diverse destinations Alabama has to offer.

FY 2024 Tourism Grant Allocation

In the FY2024 Budget, $2,730,000 was allocated to the Alabama Tourism Department for grants to promote local and state economies. Grants shall be reflective of the geographical diversity of the state. Each grant shall be awarded following the recommendation of members of the Legislature or legislative delegations. No House of Representatives district shall receive more than five grants at $2,600 per grant awarded, and no Senate District shall receive more than ten grants at $3,900 per grant awarded. The Alabama Tourism Department is proud to work with the Alabama Legislature to administer these grants. FY 2024 Community Grants

The Community Grants Program provides assistance ot municipal and nonprofit Alabama organizations promoting travel and vacation business ot Alabama on a reimbursement basis. Organizations approved for Community Grants may be considered for grants for an amount up ot $2,500 for festivals and/or events and up ot $5,000 for attractions.
